The Miami Marlins will receive the top selection in the first Competitive Balance round of the 2015 Major League Baseball Draft, the league announced Wednesday afternoon.
Implemented to achieve greater parity among the league's 30 clubs, the competitive balance lottery affords extra draft picks to those teams within the bottom 10 in terms of revenue and market size.
Teams that received picks within Round A will make their selections after the first round of the 2015 First-Year Player Draft, and those relegated to Round B will pick after the draft's second round.
