David Price: Winning World Series with Cubs would be the 'coolest'

David Price being traded to the Chicago Cubs?

No way, right?

Well, the No. 1 trade target for contending teams spoke very highly of the lowly Cubs during press availability for the All-Star festivities Monday.

“Winning absolutely is something you want to do," Price said. "Being a part of something special is also something you want to do. You can take that to a first-place team. You could take that all the way to a last-place team like the Cubs. With the talent they have coming up they could be a very special team in a few years as well.

"That would probably be the coolest city to win a championship in. They haven't done it in I'm not sure how long. To do that there that would be the coolest city to win a championship in right now."

Cubs fans have waited 106 years for a championship, and their farm system is stacked with talented bats, but pitching remains a concern after the team dealt Jeff Samardzija and Jason Hammel to the Oakland Athletics.

Price is the top target on the trade market as the deadline looms, but the possibility of him staying Tampa is certainly legit. Regardless, he will become a free agent in 2016, which should be right when Cubs super prospects Addison Russell, Kris Bryant and Javier Baez make the transition to the bigs.
