Tour de France: Vincenzo Nibali wins Stage 2
Vincenzo Nibali, the winner of the 2013 Giro d'Italia, took home the Yellow jersey after winning Stage 2 of the Tour de France Sunday. He stayed clear of the group with 1.9km to go before the finish line, defeating Greg van Avermaet, and third place finisher Michael Kwiatkowski.
Stage 2 was a 124 mile (201 km) race.
Nibali had this to say after the race
“That was a very difficult stage at the end. I really felt as though I was all out and I didn’t think I was going to be able to keep up that pace towards the end, but in the end I just found that little bit extra."
Nibali now has a two second advantage over Peter Sagan, who took the lead in the points classification. Germany's Stage 1 winner Marcel Kittel finished way back of the pack.
