During a TSN radio appearance on Tuesday, Bob McKenzie said the St. Louis Blues are a front-runner to bid for the services of Paul Stastny, who seems to want to stay with the Colorado Avalanche.

I think the St. Louis Blues are in very hard. The dynamic is pretty basic here, he really loves Colorado and wants to stay. To this point in time I don't believe Colorado has gone past the 6M mark... He had 15 teams talk to him and I think St. Louis is one of those teams that intrigues him and probably has enough term and money on the table to really intrigue him.

According to McKenzie, Stastny plans on going back to Colorado with the offers he receives, giving the team an opportunity to match or counter the best one, creating what McKenzie called "a fascinating dynamic."

"If it's a four year deal and the difference is a million or more than a million or year, then he'll have to sit down and do the math, and decide if he's going with his head or if he's going with his heart," McKenzie said.
