Athletics' Cespedes dealing with shoulder soreness

Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports / Reuters

Though he has appeared in all but four of his club's games this season, Oakland Athletics outfielder Yoenis Cespedes continues to deal with right shoulder soreness, the same ailment that plagued him during the 2013 campaign, reports Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle.

Cespedes doesn't believe he'll require a stint on the disabled list, but the 28-year-old is hitting just .190 over his last 14 games. Shoulder soreness hampered Cespedes during the latter stages of the 2013 season, forcing the Cuban defector to miss a handful of games in September.

Cespedes is hitting .242/.300/.488 (121 OPS+) with 10 home runs and 15 doubles through 54 games this season, managing a career-best .246 isolated power.
