Clinton-Dix to Eagles: 'Come get me, please. Whatever it takes'

With just a day to go before the NFL Draft, players tend to keep quiet on their preferred destination, not wanting to ruffle any feathers by naming names. However, former Alabama safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix seems to hold no such reservations, he knows exactly where he would like to go: Philadelphia.

Eagles director of player personnel Ed Marynowitz is well acquainted with Clinton-Dix from his time as a recruiter at Alabama and Clinton-Dix went as far as enticing Marynowitz to convince the Eagles to draft him.

"He sent me an article and I was on the front of it, about going to Philly and what not," Clinton-Dix said, via CSNPhilly.com. "I told him to tell them to come get me, please. Whatever it takes."

While Philadelphia would benefit from an upgrade at safety, there are other, more pressing needs the Eagles will likely address with their first round pick. Even if Philly did target Clinton-Dix in the draft, the Eagles' 22nd overall pick would likely be too late to select the consensus All-American.

"When I left there I felt like they felt like they might need to draft up to get me," Clinton-Dix said.

Clinton-Dix certainly doesn't lack for confidence. He'd like to emulate the career path of Eagles legendary safety Brian Dawkins and feels he has what it takes to forge his own path as an elite safety in the league.

“I can do it all, from blitzing to covering, to playing the post, quarters,” he said. “Whatever needs to be done, I’m dong it. Like I said, Brian Dawkins is a different breed, but I’m my own breed as well. You’d get a different feel with me.”
