Kings steal Game 1 from Ducks in overtime to take 1-0 series lead

Jayne-Kamin Oncea / USA TODAY Sports

The Anaheim Ducks and Los Angeles Kings needed overtime to solve Game 1 as Marian Gaborik scored with 7.5 seconds remaining and an empty net behind him. Gaborik wasn't done as he went on to score the overtime winner giving the Kings the 3-2 win and a 1-0 series lead.

It was an impressive late game charge by the ailing Kings, who were down to five defensemen. Drew Doughty played 28:34 in regulation, as the team was without Robyn Regehr for the second and third periods.
