Doc Rivers on whether he can keep working with Donald Sterling: 'I don't know yet'

The fallout from the alleged racist remarks being attributed to Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling is coming fast and furious.

NBA legends like Magic Johnson, current superstars like LeBron James, minority owners like Michael Jordan and Vivek Ranadive, and even the President have all spoken out against the comments. Now, the situation is threatening the Clippers organization in a very tangible way.

To be clear, Rivers wasn't threatening to quit, and has spoke about trying to keep his team focused on the basketball at hand (they're in Golden State on Sunday for Game 4 of their opening round series).

Still, many have looked to Rivers for comment, considering he took this job recently, surely knowing Sterling's track record of alleged discriminatory practices.

While Rivers was reportedly solemn, he indicated that the team has not planned any sort of protest before Sunday's game. He also said he'd understand if fans didn't show up at Staples Center for Game 5 but that "we need them."

The players, however, may have a different idea.

The league has promised to work quickly to verify the authenticity of the recording and they're hoping to have the matter wrapped up within a few days. Commissioner Adam Silver is also expected to be at Game 4 on Sunday, though that was a previously planned appearance.
