Vigneault on J.T. Miller: 'He just hasn't earned the right to be at this level'

The New York Rangers sent down their 2011 first-round draft pick Wednesday after a lackluster performance with the team scoring only six points through 30 games.

J.T. Miller was sent down to the AHL on Wednesday and head coach Alain Vigneault had no problem explaining why. "He just hasn't earned the right to be at this level on a regular basis," he told the New York Post.

The 21-year-old has struggled to fit in with the Rangers and Vigneault explains his effort is sub-par, "He needs to show more commitment on the ice and off. Until he does that, he hasn't earned the right."

While defending the organization's decision to send Miller down, Vigneault laid it all on the line with his final comment. "J.T. has to figure it out and hopefully he will. When he does, we’re going to have a good player. If he doesn't, he will be a good minor league player."
