Frank Vogel says Andrew Bynum is 'going to be out for a little while'
When the Indiana Pacers signed Andrew Bynum for the remainder of the season, they were also putting pen to paper on a set of deteriorating knees.
It took all of two games for Bynum's knees to swell up, and after having one of them drained on Monday, head coach Frank Vogel isn't sure how much time his team's new acquisition will miss.
"He played in the Detroit game, aggravated a previous condition and had some swelling in there," Vogel told NBC Sports. "He's going to be out for a little while."
Bynum has impressed in his two contests with the Pacers so far, averaging 11.5 points and 9.5 rebounds over 18.0 minutes. If he's able to remain healthy for the playoffs, Vogel thinks he'll provide his team with a high level of production off the bench.
"You know, obviously if he's healthy it gives us one of the best centers in the league," Vogel said. "He's proven that in the short time [he's been with us] in the two games that he played here. It's just going to be a matter of how healthy he can be."
