Rangers announce Lundqvist extension, terms not disclosed
The New York Rangers have officially announced a contract extension for franchise goalie Henrik Lundqvist.
As per the team`s official release, general manager Glen Sather said "Since his arrival in New York in 2005, Henrik has consistently been one of the elite goaltenders in the NHL. He is a proud representative of the tradition and class of this organization and we are excited to have him remain as a cornerstone of the franchise."
The deal is believed to be worth $59.5 million over 7 years, with an average annual valuation of $8.5 million.
