UConn head coach Dan Hurley will have his good luck charm with him when the Huskies visit the White House.

Hurley made headlines last year after his wife, Andrea Hurley, revealed he wore the same pair of red boxers with cartoon dragons on them throughout UConn's national championship run. He kept the tradition alive for the 2024 NCAA Tournament and plans to don the underwear again during his team's championship parade and trip to Washington, D.C.

"Most people think I only use the dragon underwear on game night, in these high-stress situations, but I also, I'm very good to the dragon underwear because I'm going to wear them to the White House," Hurley said Tuesday on "Today." "I'm going to wear them at the parade next week in Hartford. I'm obviously going to wash them in between, I'm going to wash them in between, but I also reward them for a job well done."

The 51-year-old added that wearing the boxers almost feels like "putting on armor" and helps calm him before games.

"It kind of settles me down a little bit," Hurley said. "It gives me some things to do because the entire team, they warm up out on the court with my entire staff, except me. And I'm back in the locker room just by myself, totally alone while everyone is out there about an hour before the game, so I just have a lot of time by myself."

UConn defeated Purdue 75-60 on Monday night to win its second straight national title and sixth overall.
