Johnson averaged 14.6 points on 40 percent shooting in the Orlando Summer League, adding 3.4 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game.

Johnson displayed consistency in this year's summer league, scoring double digits in each of the five games he played. The 24-year-old shooting guard grew more comfortable with what opponents were giving him as league play went on, as he led the team in scoring with 18 points (7-13 FG) in their final contest against the Jazz. After playing just 12 minutes per game in the 2012-13, Johnson will look to increase his role in the coming season. He is currently slated to back up starter Lance Stephenson, but if he can show more consistency from the field and beyond the arc, he could find his way into the rotation in 2013-14.
