Georgetown loses another one as Akoy Agau announces he will transfer

Newly anointed Georgetown head coach Patrick Ewing will have a spot on his bench this coming season, as big man Akoy Agau told Jeff Goodman of ESPN that he will transfer from the program.

Agau's departure makes an already depleted Hoyas roster even thinner. The Hoyas have already seen Rodney Pryor use the last of his eligibility, L.J. Peak declare for the NBA draft, and incoming four-star recruit Tremont Waters decommit after requesting his release.

Agau, a former four-star recruit and 75th-ranked prospect on the ESPN 100 for the class of 2013, averaged 4.5 points and 4.3 rebounds over 15 minutes in his first season with the Hoyas. Agau spent two years at Louisville with minimal playing time before transferring to Georgetown after the 2014-15 season.

Georgetown's only signed recruit to date could step in and fill some of the void Agau leaves behind, however - four-star power forward Antwan Walker is set to join the Hoyas this season.
