Will Barton wants a bigger slice of the NBA's new TV money.

The Denver Nuggets swingman will turn down a contact extension this offseason so he can test the free-agent market next summer, sources told ESPN's Chris Haynes.

The 26-year-old shooting guard has one year and $3.5 million remaining on his three-year contract. Under the new CBA, he's eligible to sign an extension this summer that would be worth an estimated $39 million over four years.

Instead, Barton is betting on himself in hopes of landing a more lucrative deal in 2018. The team is reportedly aware of this.

The Nuggets' sixth man averaged 17.5 points, 6.6 rebounds, 3.5 dimes, and 1.2 steals while shooting 43.7 percent from the field and 34.8 percent from long range over two full seasons in Denver.
