Report: Seahawks want QB in Day 2, would've considered Mahomes late in 1st
Despite having an entrenched starting quarterback in Russell Wilson, the Seattle Seahawks are reportedly intent on adding more talent to the position.
The Seahawks are looking to draft a quarterback in either the second or third round of the draft, and would have strongly considered taking Patrick Mahomes if he had fallen to the end of the first round, NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah and Ian Rapoport report.
Mahomes didn't come anywhere close to falling that far, however, as the Kansas City Chiefs traded up to 10th overall to get him.
The Seahawks' roster is filled with elite talent, but they need reinforcements at cornerback, defensive tackle, and offensive line if they're to make it back to the Super Bowl, so it's shocking they were willing to use a first rounder on a quarterback.
Wilson is 28 years old, and despite some struggles due to injury last season, he is undoubtedly the Seahawks' franchise player.
