Report: 3 GMs believe Conley will drop to 3rd round

Initially projected as a first-round draft pick, the future of Ohio State cornerback Gareon Conley is cloudy after he was accused of raping a woman in a Cleveland hotel on April 8.

The prospect isn't expected to speak to police about the accusation until after the draft, making his draft prospects ever more uncertain. However, three NFL general managers believe Conley will be taken in the third round, sources informed NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Conley presents a conundrum to NFL executives as he owns the talent of a difference-maker, yet his current situation is a PR nightmare.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell was reached at an NFL Play 60 event in Philadelphia on Thursday morning and was asked how the league plans to address Conley's situation.

"We obviously will look into that. The teams are looking into that. It's a serious allegation and must be treated seriously," Goodell said. "Those are things we obviously want our players to avoid. We have programs in place but let's see how the facts come out."
