Everything's bigger in Texas - including, apparently, the influence NBA owners try to exert on NBA referees.
The refs' union has already expressed its exasperation with the bully tactics of Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, and Houston Rockets owner Leslie Alexander made sure his voice was heard during Game 5 of his team's first-round series against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday night.
With the ball live on the final possession of the first quarter, an incensed Alexander got up from his courtside seat, stalked over to Bill Kennedy along the sideline, and proceeded to give the official an earful as Russell Westbrook held for the last shot.
According to ESPN's Royce Young, a request by reporters to speak with officials about the incident was denied by the NBA.
