By the numbers: Decorated Terry leaves Chelsea as all-time great
John Terry's career at Chelsea is coming to an end. For real this time.
The longtime Blues captain - who said in February of last year that he was leaving Stamford Bridge, only for his contract to be surprisingly renewed shortly after - confirmed Monday in a joint-statement with the club that he's departing come the end the season.

The announcement brings an end to the defender's wildly successful - and at times equally controversial - 22-year tenure with the club.
Here are some of the numbers behind Terry's remarkable career in west London:
14 - Titles won with Chelsea
The 36-year-old's trophy cabinet is fully stocked ...
... and, if things go according to plan for the Blues this season, he could have a pair of additions. Chelsea, leading the Premier League by four points, is also in the semi-finals of the FA Cup.
40 - Premier League goals scored
No defender in the Premier League's history has found the back of the net more times than Chelsea's outgoing captain.
78 - England caps won
Terry was a perennial figure at the heart of the Three Lions' backline before retiring from international competition in 2012.
488 - Premier League matches played for Chelsea

The west London club has seen some magnificent players don the blue shirt over the years, but nobody has made more Premier League appearances for Chelsea than Terry.
