Marlins Park cat adopted by team executive
"Don Cattingly" will get another nine lives.
The feisty feline - who was apparently given his name by the Miami Marlins in honor of their skipper - caused a ruckus during Tuesday's contest at Marlins Park by somehow invading the field before escaping by climbing the outfield fence and hiding in the stadium's home-run statue.
Although nobody has been able to figure out how the cat got into the stadium and on the field, Don Cattingly's life is probably going to change for the better thanks to that dash through the outfield. On Thursday the Marlins revealed that the cat had been safely located and rescued in the stadium, and has been adopted by a team executive.
The #RallyCat rumors are true! Don Cattingly was spotted in the park last night & given a loving home with a #Marlins front office member. 🐱 pic.twitter.com/fQ7MohTY0h

Earlier in the day, Marlins president David Samson told Andre C. Fernandez of the Miami Herald that one person had come to the stadium thinking it was their lost cat, though it turned out to be a case of mistaken identity.
At any rate, here's hoping Don Cattingly will get to return to Marlins Park one day in a new role of official Marlins "rally cat." Ideally that will happen when the Brewers roll through Miami so we can see a meeting between Don Cattingly and Hank the Dog.
