The Detroit Lions are going to a new look in 2017, unveiling their four new uniforms Thursday.

Team president Rod Wood announced April 2 that the four new uniforms will be available for purchase at the official team store following Thursday's release.

"Our uniforms are an important part of our identity," said Wood, via a team release. "In partnership with Nike and the NFL, we have modernized their appearance and will be outfitting our players with the latest and best uniform technology.

"In retooling our brand for this new era of Detroit Lions football, our priorities were to embrace the team's legacy colors, Honolulu blue and silver, while utilizing the highest performance product available."

The Lions will use the "Honolulu Blue" jersey, modeled above by Matthew Stafford, as their home uniform, while the white duds will serve as the road jersey. The "dark steel grey" jerseys with "LIONS" on the sleeves will be used as Detroit's Color Rush uniform and the stripe-less blue jerseys represent the team's throwback look.

The helmet will now switch to a chrome face mask.

While it wasn't a clear view, the Lions may have accidentally leaked their new digs via an email to season-ticket holders in late March.
