Redskins' Cousins doesn't anticipate trade before draft

Washington Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins appears to be comfortable about his security with the team with the NFL Draft looming.

Cousins rejected the notion of being traded before the draft.

"I'm not expecting anything to happen," Cousins said during an appearance on NFL Live via ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The quarterback has been linked to the San Francisco 49ers throughout the offseason after Kyle Shanahan was named their head coach. Shanahan and Cousins worked together with the Redskins from 2012-13 when the former operated as the team's offensive coordinator.

Cousins became the first quarterback in NFL history to receive the franchise tag designation in consecutive years, and both parties have until July 15 to agree to a long-term extension.

The 28-year-old was named to his first Pro Bowl this past season after completing 67 percent of his passes for 4,917 yards and 25 touchdowns against 12 interceptions.
