NFL investigating players appearing at Las Vegas arm wrestling event

Kirby Lee / USA TODAY Sports

The NFL will investigate an arm wrestling event that took place from April 5-9 at the MGM Grand Las Vegas.

James Harrison, NaVorro Bowman, Kenny Stills, and Marquette King were among the current players in attendance, while Marshawn Lynch also participated.

The league is looking into the incident further as current players aren't allowed to appear at casinos, and the participants involved may have violated the NFL's gambling policy.

"Had we been asked in advance if this was acceptable, we would have indicated that it was in direct violation of the gambling policy," NFL executive vice president for communications and public affairs, Joe Lockhart said to USA TODAY's Jarrett Bell.

CBS Network will broadcast the contest from May 27-28, along with the final round on June 3.

The NFL recently approved a relocation proposal that will see the Oakland Raiders move to Las Vegas.
