An attorney representing Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield entered a plea of not guilty Friday regarding his misdemeanor charges of public intoxication, disorderly conduct, and fleeing and resisting arrest, according to Cody Stavenhagen of The Tulsa World, citing the Fayetteville District Court.

A court date for Mayfield has yet to be determined, according to Stavenhagen.

The two-time Heisman Trophy finalist was involved in an incident on Feb. 25 in which he was reported as "yelling profanities and causing a scene," and later "began to sprint away" from a police officer who had requested him to stop.

Mayfield issued a lengthy apology via Twitter three days later, apologizing for his actions and saying "I am sorry for not being the leader you know I am."

Mayfield enjoyed the best passing season of his career last season, completing 71 percent of his passes for 3,965 yards and 40 touchdowns with just eight interceptions.
