McIlroy says he needs 'round of my life' to win Sunday

Rory McIlroy looked primed for a low round Saturday at the Masters, with birdies at the second and third holes. But things went downhill from there.

McIlroy didn't take advantage of some great drives, and failed to birdie both of the par 5s on the back nine.

"A little frustrated, I felt I gave myself a lot of chances on the back nine and didn't quite convert," he told the BBC after his round.

The 27-year-old carded a 1-under-par 71, but, without making a big move, all but ended his chances for a green jacket and the career gland slam.

"The round of my life tomorrow to have a chance," McIlory said when asked what he needed to do Sunday.

The Northern Irishman sits in a tie for 12th, six shots back of co-leaders Justin Rose and Sergio Garcia.
