CBS confirms Romo will join broadcast team as lead NFL analyst
Tony Romo has officially joined the CBS family.
Following a whirlwind morning of reports that the longtime Dallas Cowboys quarterback had retired and was preparing to move on to a career in broadcasting, the network released a statement Tuesday confirming the news:

In the statement, Romo was announced as the lead NFL game analyst and he is expected to work alongside Jim Nantz and Tracy Wolfson on both Thursday and Sunday games.

"When you think about the NFL, two of the most iconic brands are the Dallas Cowboys and CBS Sports," Romo said in the statement. "Going from one legendary team to another as I begin the next phase of my career is a dream come true.
"I have always known that once my playing career was over I wanted to become a broadcaster. I am ecstatic for the opportunity to work with Jim as I learn the craft and convey to fans my passion for this great game."
Romo replaces polarizing broadcast personality Phil Simms, whose role with CBS is unclear after providing NFL analysis for almost 20 years.
