Free-agent safety T.J. McDonald has been suspended for the first eight games of the 2017 season, a source told ESPN's Field Yates.
McDonald, who was a 16-game starter for the Los Angeles Rams in 2016, was handed the ban due to a May DUI that also included drug charges, reports NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
The 26-year-old learned of his suspension during his first free-agent visit of the season, with the Miami Dolphins, adds Yates.
