Evinger taps Kunitskaya in title-fight rematch at Invicta FC 22
Tonya Evinger left no doubt.
After retaining her Invicta FC bantamweight title in controversial fashion in a fight against Yana Kunitskaya in November, Evinger won the rematch via rear-naked choke at Invicta FC 22 on Saturday night.
Evinger fought off multiple submission attempts by Kunitskaya in the first round of the fight, but with seconds remaining in the second round, she slipped in a submission maneuver of her own to remain champion.

Their previous meeting, at Invicta FC 20, ended with Kunitskaya wearing the belt after she forced Evinger to tap with an armbar. Evinger disputed the decision, however, arguing the referee had her move from a legal position, and it was overturned by the Missouri Office of Athletics, prompting the rematch.
There was no such dispute in the sequel.
