Soccer player who thanked wife, girlfriend says he calls his daughter GF
Mohammed Anas, the Ghanaian striker who became a viral sensation over the weekend after thanking both his wife and girlfriend during a Man of the Match acceptance speech, now claims he was referring to his daughter.
Anas appeared embarrassed and apologetic after the blunder, saying, "I'm so sorry, my wife ... I love you so much from my heart."

However, Anas, who plays for South Africa's Free State Stars, told BBC he refers to his daughter as "girlfriend."
"My family knows that I call my daughter my girlfriend," he said. "That's what I was talking about. I don't have a girlfriend."
He also reiterated his love for his wife, who he's been with for seven years.
"I love her so much. She's given me two beautiful children. She is fine," Anas said. "She knows what kind of man I am so I am not worried."
