Roger Federer continues to defy expectations, time, physics ... everything.

The 35-year-old and world No. 10 defeated countryman Stan Wawrinka in straight sets 6-4, 7-5 on Sunday to win his fifth BNP Paribas Open title at Indian Wells.

It's the 90th tournament win of Federer's remarkable career, and his 25th Masters 1000 victory.

Federer's now 13-1 on the season. His start to 2017 is all the more exceptional considering knee surgery ended his 2016 campaign after Wimbledon, and he'll be ranked No. 6 come Monday, according to the New York Times' Christopher Clarey.
