Baseball world reacts to Stanton's monster HR

Orlando Ramirez / USA TODAY Sports

Giancarlo Stanton has made a career of destroying baseballs, but his home run Saturday night was one for the record books.

The United States outfielder crushed a two-run home run off Dominican Republic starter Ervin Santana that went into the second deck of the Western Metal Supply Co. building at Petco Park.

While the ball was estimated to have traveled 424 feet, what's more impressive is that fact that it had an exit velocity of 117.3 mph - making it the fourth-hardest-hit homer in the Statcast era.

To no one's surprise, Stanton's peers were floored by the blast.
