White has no idea why Diaz brothers keep turning down fights
Count Dana White among those in the MMA community wondering what's up with the Diaz brothers.
The UFC president recently spoke to TMZ Sports about the status of Nate and Nick Diaz, two fan favorites who have yet to be scheduled for a fight in 2017. Attempts to get the brothers booked have apparently been rebuffed on multiple occasions.
"We keep offering Nate fights and he keeps turning them down. Nick too," White said, according to Tim Burke of Bloody Elbow. He added that he has "no idea" why this is the case.
Nick has been out of action since January 2015 and White has previously said that the elder Diaz brother turned down an offer to face former welterweight champion Robbie Lawler. As for Nate, he hasn't fought since losing a rematch to Conor McGregor last August and White posited that he may be waiting to complete his trilogy with McGregor rather than take a lower-profile bout.
"Maybe," White said. "Maybe he is. ...
"But Conor has endless possibilities for fights."
McGregor is currently prioritizing a crossover fight with boxing star Floyd Mayweather over everything else, so both Nate and Nick may have to settle for what they can get if they wish to compete again soon.
