Report: Issue with physical blocked Orioles' deal with Pagan

The Baltimore Orioles were reportedly set to add free-agent outfielder Angel Pagan this offseason, though an issue with his physical apparently terminated his agreed-upon deal with the club, sources told Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports.

According to Heyman, the specifics and logistics behind Pagan's physical are unknown, but he did land on the disabled list last season with the San Francisco Giants due to a left hamstring strain in May.

Pagan, however, is with Puerto Rico at the World Baseball Classic, and his agent Greg Genske says there's nothing wrong with the 35-year-old's physical status.

"Angel is an amazing athlete who is in top physical condition. He had a full and very productive season last year for the Giants and is ready to make an impact this season for a new club," his agent, Greg Genske told Heyman.

Pagan slashed .277/.331/.418, adding 12 home runs and 55 RBIs, in 129 games last season with San Francisco. He owns a career .280/.330/.408 slash line through 11 big-league seasons.
