The Washington Redskins' decision to fire general manager Scot McCloughan was one of the biggest and most controversial stories on Thursday, a day packed with major NFL transactions.

Though the Redskins officially said they will not comment on the firing, an anonymous team source told The Washington Post that McCloughan's alcoholism was to blame.

In protest of the firing, a small group of fans brought pitchforks to Redskins park Friday:

Others on the scene had signs calling for the firing of Redskins president Bruce Allen:

One fan told FOX 5 that McCloughan's firing influenced her to give up her season tickets.
