So, uh, Dion Waiters is kind of making a habit of this.
Two nights after banking in a back-breaking 3-ball from the logo to seal a Miami Heat victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers, Waiters hit an equally absurd triple at the end of the shot clock to put the Heat up seven on the Charlotte Hornets with 45 seconds to play.
It was his third 3-pointer of the final four-odd minutes, giving him a team-high 24 points for the game. The Heat, meanwhile, picked up a crucial game on a division rival that came in trailing them by just 1.5 games in the mad scrum for one of the final two Eastern Conference playoff spots.
The Heat, winners of 20 of their last 24 games, now sit just a half-game out.
