Marshall signs reported 2-year, $12M deal with Giants

Brandon Marshall has agreed to a two-year, $12-million deal with the New York Giants, sources told Newsday's Kimberley A. Martin.

The move will keep the veteran wideout in the Big Apple, after the New York Jets released him last week.

Marshall, who will turn 33 this month, was believed to want to remain in New York City, where he tapes a weekly appearance on Showtime's "Inside The NFL."

In Marshall, the Giants will get a big, powerful possession receiver to complement dynamic young All-Pro wideout Odell Beckham Jr. and 2016 second-round pick Sterling Shepard.

He caught 59 passes for 788 yards and three touchdowns in a disappointing 2016 season, but had topped 1,000 yards receiving in eight of the previous nine campaigns.

The Giants are Marshall's fifth NFL team after stints with the Denver Broncos, Miami Dolphins, Chicago Bears, and Jets.
