Known for their suffocating defense and relentless hustle, Wichita State will once again be dancing this March. This time though, they'll be equipped with some firepower added to their offense - the Shockers rank 21st in scoring - to go along with their 14th ranked defense, making them a handful for any opponent they will face.

Making the Tournament for the sixth straight year, the Shockers have made a Final Four (2013) and two Sweet 16s (2013 and 2015) during that time, and are currently on a four-year streak of advancing out of the first round.

Best win: The Shockers took down Missouri Valley Conference regular-season champion Illinois State twice, once in season and the other in the MVC tournament game. They outscored the Redbirds 157-96 in those two games combined, avenging an earlier season loss.

Season summary: No team may be hotter than Wichita State, who have won 14 straight games, which includes a fourth straight conference tournament title. Outside of back-to-back losses to blue bloods Louisville and Michigan State early in the season, the Shockers only dropped two other games (Oklahoma State and Illinois State) ending the season with a 30-4 record.

The Shockers' potent offense is the result of a team effort, as six players average seven points or more, highlighted by Markis McDuffie (11.8), Landry Shamet (11.1), and Darral Willis (10.2). Ten different players average double-digit minutes, a testament to the depth and intensity the Shockers play at.
