Mickelson's caddie unable to finish round due to stomach virus

Michael Madrid-USA TODAY Sports

A handful of players and caddies have been hit with food a stomach virus this week at the WGC-Mexico Championship.

Henrik Stenson withdrew Thursday due to the illness, and now Phil Mickelson's caddie, Jim "Bones" Mackay, is under the weather with a stomach issue.

Mackay attempted to caddie Friday, but was only able to go a few holes. Mickelson's brother, Tim, was following the group and provided backup when the longtime caddie could go no further.

Tim is the agent for Jon Rahm, who shared the first-round lead with the 46-year-old.

Mackay underwent double knee replacement surgery back in October.
