Agent: Donnarumma cannot commit future to Milan until new owners arrive

Gianluigi Donnarumma's agent cannot say whether the prodigious goalkeeper will extend his contract with AC Milan, preferring to wait until the club's new Chinese owners sit down and talk to him.

The Rossoneri are currently in the final days of a protracted takeover, with the Sino-Europe Sports group expected to close the deal by the end of the week.

The Italian giant is widely believed to have the funds to compete with the rest of Europe's heavyweights in the summer. But the most important piece of business is Donnarumma, who turned 18 last week.

"I've not spoken to anybody from the new Milan yet. For me, Milan are still represented by (outgoing CEO Adriano) Galliani, so I don't have any contact in the new Milan," agent Mino Raiola told La Gazzetta dello Sport, with translation from ESPN FC's Ben Gladwell. "The lad is just concentrating on doing his job, and I am doing mine.

"This is a clear division of roles and I am the one looking at his future and the possibilities, and then it is the player who takes the decision.

"But first I think it is my duty to see what Milan are going to become."

Donnarumma, meanwhile, has become not only one of the most coveted teenagers in world football, but a premier goalkeeper in Serie A. His 99 saves rank just three behind league leader Lukasz Skorupski, while his nine clean sheets also tie him for third in the goalkeeper standings.

More impressively, he has allowed just two-of-six penalties in Serie A this season.

Donnarumma's current contract runs until June 2018.
