Report: Kenny Stills could command $12M per year in free agency

If wide receiver Kenny Stills is allowed to hit the open market, he will command top dollar.

According to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald, the Miami Dolphins will make a strong sales pitch this week in order to retain their impending free agent, but if they fail to do so, Stills is said to be worth in the range of $12 million per year in free agency, Salguero said, citing sources.

Stills has yet to record a 1,000-yard season in his four-year career, yet he represents a top option in this year's receiving class.

However, only one receiver makes more than $12 million in base salary: the Dallas Cowboys' Dez Bryant. Should Stills receive $12 million per season, he would surpass Julio Jones, Larry Fitzgerald, A.J. Green, and all other receivers in base salary.

The Dolphins are said to be interested in keeping Stills aboard, but he's more likely to hit free agency, according to Salguero, as his camp is already aware of his value on the open market.
