Report: Nationals showing interest in Pagan

David Banks / USA TODAY Sports

The Washington Nationals are looking to add depth to their outfield, and have interest in free-agent outfielder Angel Pagan, major-league sources told Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports.

The 35-year-old hit .277/.331/.418 in 495 at-bats with the San Francisco Giants in 2016, stealing 15 bases and hitting a career-high 12 home runs. The 11-year veteran spent most of 2016 playing in left field after primarily playing center field for most of his career.

The Nationals' outfield already features Bryce Harper, Jayson Werth, and offseason acquisition Adam Eaton. This move will make it more difficult for Michael Taylor to find playing time at the major-league level.
