Lonzo Ball and No. 5 UCLA stole a road win against No. 4 Arizona on Saturday, but it was his father LaVar stealing the headlines for some comments made earlier in the day.

The elder Ball went on a local radio show in Tucson, Ariz., and reiterated that he thinks his son is better than Steph Curry. This was immediately met with harsh backlash throughout the basketball world, but the UCLA star says it's not an issue.

"No, it's not distracting," Lonzo told Nicole Auerbach of USA Today Sports. "I just go out there and play basketball."

Another talking point that came from LaVar's interview was his comment that Lonzo would only play for the Los Angeles Lakers. His father clarified that message later in the day, telling ESPN that he wants his son to learn about the point guard position from Magic Johnson. When asked about the Lakers comment, the freshman phenom uttered the same response.

"All I do is go out there and play basketball."

The Lakers look likely to have a top-three pick in the upcoming draft, so Ball remaining in Los Angeles to play for a different team next season does look to be a real possibility.
