Lineker: Decision to sack Ranieri 'inexplicable, unforgivable'

Count Gary Lineker amongst those who are perplexed by Leicester City's decision to give Claudio Ranieri the axe. Angry, even.

The Foxes, whose fairy tale title win of last season has turned sour as the club is now battling to avoid the increasing threat of relegation, made the polarising choice to fire the Italian bench boss on Thursday.

The move, which comes some nine months after the club's historic title win that stunned the football world, was met with condemnation by Lineker; the former Leicester striker and city native who has been arguably the most outspoken, high-profile supporter of the side since Ranieri's hiring in 2015.

Many shared similar opinions in light of the club's decision, bemoaning the reactionary nature of modern football, and arguing that Leicester's title triumph should have earned Ranieri more leeway.
