Creighton's Maurice Watson Jr. is already out for the season with a torn ACL, but now the school has suspended the star point guard from all athletic activities.

"Creighton University suspended Maurice Watson Jr. from all athletic-related activities for alleged actions that are contrary to university policies and core values," the university said in a statement obtained by Adam Krueger of CBS-Omaha. "Senior Day for men's basketball is Tuesday, Feb. 28, and Watson will not be participating in postgame activities."

While Creighton declined to get into specifics as to why Watson was being disciplined, they did offer a rough explanation into the decision.

"Creighton's athletics program is based upon the Catholic, Jesuit mission of the university," the statement read. "Program officials, coaches, and staff always strive to administer the program according to the university's highest values and standards."

Watson was enjoying a standout senior season prior to his devastating knee injury, leading the country in assists at 8.5 per contest for the 23rd-ranked Bluejays.
