Liverpool fans won't have to wait long before Adam Lallana puts pen to paper on a new long-term contract.

The announcement of an agreement between the England international and Liverpool is said to be imminent, with the club expected to reveal details of the new deal over the "next 24 hours", according to Andy Hunter of the Guardian.

Lallana is expected to become one of the highest-paid players on the team as he gets set to be rewarded for his impressive play with a four-year contract that will see him earn £150,000 a week.

Meanwhile, Lyall Thomas of Sky Sports reports that the 28-year-old will sign a three-year contract with a weekly income of £110,000.

Regardless of the length or weekly earnings, it's a clear indication that he is held in high regard by manager Jurgen Klopp after playing a vital role since the German manager arrived in 2015.

However, the situation hasn't always been so positive, as Lallana struggled to make his mark upon his arrival in the summer of 2014 when former gaffer Brendan Rodgers launched a £25-million bid to secure his services from Southampton.

Confirmation of his new contract would come roughly a month after Philippe Coutinho committed his future to Liverpool after signing a five-year contract in January.
