"It's official. I'm back."
With those four words from Georges St-Pierre, one of the UFC's greatest champions confirmed the recent reports that he has signed a multi-fight contract to return to competition after a three-year break.
The declaration comes at the end of a new commercial for the Hayabusa apparel brand that features GSP intensely sparring before directly addressing the camera. This is the first comments from St-Pierre himself regarding his comeback.
St-Pierre last fought at UFC 167 on Nov. 16, 2013, a split decision win over Johny Hendricks. It was the ninth consecutive welterweight title defense for St-Pierre and his 12th consecutive win overall. Following that victory, he took a voluntary leave from the Octagon, though he never considered himself to be retired.
