Nathan Dyer underwent surgery to repair his ruptured Achilles tendon Thursday, Swansea City announced.

The winger was ruled out for the remainder of the season prior to the surgery. He will now enter a period of rest before starting the recovery process, according to club performance director Richard Buchanan.

"Nathan is doing OK," Buchanan told the team's website.

Buchanan added, "He has had an operation to repair the Achilles tendon. He will now have a period of rest before he commences a carefully monitored period of rehabilitation."

Dyer suffered the injury last weekend during Swansea's 2-0 victory over Leicester City, where the 29-year-old spent last season on loan.

He lifted the Premier League title with Leicester after the club stunned the football world and secured its first ever top-flight championship.
