Mayweather denies McGregor deal is done, says he's 'happily retired'

The superfight between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor is inching towards becoming a reality, but the boxing star apparently wants it known nothing is set in stone.

Following reports the Nevada State Athletic Commission had confirmed talks between the two camps have taken place and that Mayweather had said the fight was "very, very close" to being booked, the 39-year-old released a statement Tuesday saying no deals had been made for him to come out of retirement.

While Mayweather didn't name McGregor specifically, there's little doubt that's the fight he's referring to:

The NSAC will reportedly consider rehearing McGregor's disciplinary case regarding the bottle-throwing incident in August. The case needs to be resolved in order for the Irishman to receive a boxing license.
