Atletico's Griezmann admits 'doubts' over potential England move

A bit of inclement weather could potentially put Antoine Griezmann off of playing in England.

The in-demand Atletico Madrid star has been at the centre of rumours regarding a future move to England, with a report earlier this month suggesting that Griezmann had already engaged in contract negotiations with Manchester United.

Yet, the French forward's latest comments about his future seem to indicate a move to England is far from imminent after Griezmann admitted his apprehension over the notoriously poor weather in England.

"With Real Sociedad, I felt that I needed to leave. For the moment, I do not know where that desire came from," he told RMC, as translated by ESPNFC

"Who knows how the season will finish. If it finishes badly, maybe I will ask myself the question. For the moment, it is not relevant."

After ruling out the possibility of joining Atletico's rivals, Real Madrid and Barcelona, he added: "Germany, the league does not attract me much. France, not for the moment.

"And England, I have a lot of doubts about my private life. Everything like rain, bad weather ... I need to feel happy outside."

Griezmann, who finished third behind Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi in the Ballon d'Or, has put together another superb year, scoring 16 goals in all competitions.
