LeBron not worried about increased workload in Love's absence

LeBron James remains undeterred by any challenge at this point in his career.

James and the Cleveland Cavaliers will be without power forward Kevin Love for approximately six weeks, after the All-Star underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee Tuesday.

Although Love's absence is a certain setback for the defending champions, James bristled at the suggestion that he'll need to elevate his game while his teammate recovers.

"I've never stepped down," James said via ESPN's Dave McMenamin.

"It's been a burden on me since I got drafted," he added. "Why does it change now? Ain't nothing changed. I have my guys ready to play every single night."

James is in the midst of another superlative season, averaging 25.8 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 8.8 assists per game, while shooting 53.3 percent from the field, helping the Cavaliers remain atop the Eastern Conference with a 37-16 record.

"I'll rest when I retire," James said. "As long as I'm in the lineup, we've got a chance. We good. Kev is out. Kev is out for an extended period of time. J.R. has been out. But I'm in the lineup. I'll be suiting up, we've got a chance against anybody. I ain't worried."

The four-time MVP repeatedly implored the Cavaliers to find another playmaker last month, but James won't be going down without a fight as his team carries on without Love for a significant portion of the regular season.
